Ballenberg Museum - Switzerland
100 century-old buildings from all over Switzerland, 250 farmyard animals, "historical" gardens
and fields, demonstrations of typical crafts and many special events all create a vivid impression of rural life in bygone days. Ballenberg is in fact absolutely unique.
The doors are open. Come in and have a look round the kitchens, bedrooms and living room of the authentically reconstructed houses and farm buildings from the past centuries. In an area of
66 hectares, typical houses and settlements from almost every region in Switzerland can be seen.
In our workshops craftsmen, using original tools, demonstrate old handicrafts and trades: from wood-craving, basket-weaving, spinning, weaving, bobbin-lace making and forging to making
cheese and baking bread.
No museum is like this one. A perfect place to make friends, witness old customs.
