La Roche Feudal Castle - Belgium

Originally built by Sereman in the ninth century for the Duke of Lobtharinga, the castle was,

rebuilt during the twelfth century. On this site, a neolithic home was followed by a settlement,

then a Roman fort, then the palace of the Frankish kings. Between mid-July and mid-August,

the ghost of Berthe de la Roche makes, appearance every evening (except when very windy or

raining).
