The Castle Pinacoteca - Milan - Italy
The Pinocoteca is situated on the first floor of the Ducal Court in the Castello Sforzesco. As from
April 2005, visitors find a new sequence of works and renovated display layout. Hall paintings,
great altarpieces, frescoes and minatures frame a pathway dedicated to the history of Lombard
painting together with the great Masters of Italian painting.
The display develops from Room XX to Room XXVI in a chronological itinerary which, from the mid-1400's, reaches the beginnings of Neo-classicism. In the permanent exhibition of the
Pinacoteca, the traditional context of painting is enriched with further artistic support: a
selection of items of moulded works, sculpted and carved, which accompany the paintings to enhance appreciation of the unitary nature of the language of Art.
