Fruit and Nut Delights
3 tbs raisins 4 finely chopped dried figs juice of 1 lemon
300 ccm milk 300 ccm water 200 g semolina
10 g finely chopped dates 50 g coarsely chopped hazelnuts
2 tbs each roasted sesame seed, roasted sunflower seeds and honey,
peel of 1/2 untreated lemon.
Desiccated coconut and ground hazelnuts to coat the balls.
Drip lemon juice over the raisins and figs and marinade for 2 hours.
Bring the milk and water to a boil, stir in the semolina and cook for 8 - 10 minutes over a low heat.
Cool. Mix the marinated fruit, dates, nuts, sesame, sunflower seeds, honey and the lemon peel
into the semolina.
With moist hands, form small balls and roll the balls in coconut or hazelnuts.
Place the balls in decorative paper cups and store in a cool place until ready to serve.
