Among the wide variety of spirits to be found in the Franche-Comte' region.
This region is famous for absinthe (right) an anise-flavoured liquor also known as the
"green fairy" thanks to its distinctive colouring.
It also produces eau de vie Marc, one of the top class liquors in France with an AOC rating,
which is obtained by distilling the remainder of pressed grapes
