Museo Canonicale - Verona , Italy

The Museum entrance is through the cloister (pass under the left-hand arch on the front of  Verona cathedral), in an area situated on the remains of two early Christian basilicas that date back to the 4th and 5th centuries AD. Recent and extensive restoration has allowed the museum to be extended to include the collection of paintings, archaeological materials, church ornaments and vestments.

Chiesa di San Fermo - Verona, Italy

This is an 11th Century church. The lower,rare because of its 4 naves, is Romanesque and the upper Gothic. Note outside, the portal with the arches on the sides and the area outside the apse. Inside the upper church you can see the superb ribbed vault wooden ceiling and the 14th and 15th C frescoes, works by Turone, Torbido, Stefano and Liberale da Verona, F Caroto and a fresco by Pisanello

Basilica di Santa Anastasia - Verona, Italy

A Gothic church constructed between 1290 and 1481.  Note the outside the unfinished facade with the splendid Gothic portal. Inside, you can see altars and chapels with works by Pietro da Forlezza, Cattaneo, Michele da Firenze, Liberale  da Verona, Girolamo dai Libri, Golfino, Brusasorci; the noteworthy fresco by Altichiero in the Cavalli, chapel; the famous "Saint George and the Princess" painted by Pisanello; at the entrance the singular hunchbacks of the holy  water stoup

Il Duomo - Verona, Italy

This church was rebuilt on the foundations of ancient Christian building and consecrated in 1187. Note outside the Romanesque facade, Nicolo' double level porch (1138), the portal with its lunette and reliefs, the splendid side porch and the apse area. inside the church you can see: the chapels with works by Falconetto, Liberale, Giolfino, Cignaroli, Torbido, Titian's, "Assumption" (1530) and Sanmicheli's original choir screen.

Basilica di San Zeno - Verona, Italy

A Romanesque basilica rebuilt after the earthquake in 1117 round a nucleus dating from the 4th or 5th century Note on the outside the facade with the large rose window called the "Wheel of Fortune", the marble bas-reliefs on either side of the porch, the famous bronze doors, the bell-tower and the Abbey Tower (12 C) inside the church you can see 13th and 14th Century frescoes, the baptismal font, the ribbed vault ceiling the crypt where the remains of San Zeno are kept, the polychromatic statue of San Zeno called "San Zeno laughing" and Andrea Mantegna's famous triptych (1457 - 59)
